That 8,200 nm figure is not a marketing number picked in isolation. It is enough to connect New York and Sydney, or Los Angeles and Johannesburg, nonstop in still air. Takeoff distance at sea level and maximum takeoff weight is 5,812 feet, shorter than the G700’s, because the G800 carries less structure to lift. That is 10 feet shorter than the G700’s cabin, and it means one fewer usable zone. The G700 can carve out a separate crew rest area or a private sleeping suite on top of the main seating and dining sections.
